The Cambridge Tree Bench is quite simply a stunning stroke of design innovation. Tree benches traditionally surround a tree, but often one half is more used than the other. This can be because the view from one side is not particularly appealing, because there is not much space at one side, or simply because it gets much more sunshine, or conversely it is always in shade. So why have a full tree bench if you are only going to use half of it?
Well here is where the Cambridge Tree Bench comes into its own. It offers 3 seats that go round more than half the tree, but not the full way round. This provides you with flexibility in terms of seating: you can even follow the sun round for the best part of the day, or if you don’t like the sun, then you can sit in the shade and follow the shade around your garden.
The classical lines and traditional design elements of the Cambridge garden bench are all here in the half tree bench, so there is no compromising with regard to the quality of design. The design is absolutely tailor made to what our customers tell us they like.
The seats are all generously sized and there is a flat arm at each side of the bench, giving you one seat with no arms and two seats that have a flat arm on one side. This means that you can take your tea, coffee or perhaps a glass of wine down and rest it on the arm, without having to balance it in your hand. However, the middle seat with no arms gives you a feeling of not being hemmed in and it allows you to spread out as much as you like.
As you may expect only the finest quality teak is used for this tree bench, with all teak used from an ethical source, with appropriate procedures in place to ensure that all forests which provide teak timber are fully reforested.
The fact that only the finest teak is used will mean that your half tree bench will last a long, long time. The older the teak is when felled, the richer it is in oils and it is not only more sustainable to use older teak, it is the optimum time for the tree to be felled, when it has lived and grown, rather than being cut down too early.
