This bench has a shaped, curved back, giving it a height in the middle that provides excellent lumbar support for anyone who needs just that little bit more support, or if you are taller than average, then this is the ideal wooden garden bench for you.

It does not have contoured arms, which is mainly where it differs from the Cardiff, but it is beautifully crafted using the best teak that is ethical in terms of how it is sourced.  We also only use very mature teak for our range of benches, trees and seats.  This means that the tree has lived and is not being cut down in its prime.  Moreover, the aged nature of the teak makes it inherently more rich in teak oil, so it requires less maintenance over its lifetime.  Using very immature teak oil produces a finished product that is not only environmentally less ethically sound, it also means that the wood has less natural oils in it, so it will require more maintenance and it will not be as durable and durability is of paramount importance to us. The bench has flat arms that make it an ideal resting spot for a cup or even a glass and the flat arms somehow invite you just to rest that little bit longer and perhaps have a cup of tea, or something a little bit stronger.  In addition, the comfort of the high back simply seems to entice you not to leave!
